LOS ANGELES, CA — September 20–21, 2025 — Following the momentum of last year’s sold-out screenings and cultural conversations, KITFO TV is proud to announce the return of its signature film festival to Downtown Los Angeles this fall. This two-day gathering will highlight the brilliance of Ethiopian and Eritrean storytellers, spotlight diaspora narratives, and offer a cinematic space for cultural connection and discovery.
Hosted at Kult Studio in the heart of DTLA, this year’s festival promises an immersive celebration with curated film screenings, panels, workshops, and a rooftop after-party that unites creatives, community leaders, and cultural icons. KITFO TV continues its mission to amplify underrepresented voices and make space for the bold, brilliant, and beloved stories of East Africa.
“With everything happening across the world, our stories matter now more than ever,” says KITFO TV founder Denkinesh Argaw. “This festival isn’t just a weekend of film—it’s a movement to archive, amplify, and honor who we are.”

Whether you’re a longtime film lover or discovering Ethio-cinema for the first time, the KITFO Film Festival is a vibrant entry point into the past, present, and future of Habesha filmmaking.
